Today we held our annual Hearts of Gold Open House which kicks off our Hearts of Gold campaign! Our guests included Fort Smith mayor, Sandy Sanders, along with 40/29’s chief meteorologist, Drew Michaels, who emceed the event. Drew led everyone into singing Christmas carols and handed out poinsettias as door prizes. The adorable Jack and Jill Daycare singers also sang carols for us! Simmons First National Bank provided a delicious brunch for everyone consisting of fantastic breakfast casseroles, sandwiches, banana bread, and muffins. We would like to thank everyone who came out and everyone that helped set it up. We could not have done this without you!
The Hearts of Gold Open House is what kicks off our Hearts of Gold campaign. From now until Christmas Eve we will be taking donations to give to residents of surrounding nursing homes and long-term care facilities. You can drop off your donations at Project Compassion, inside the St. Scholastica Retreat Center, or at any Simmons First National Bank location. The most requested items are: sweat shirts, sweat pants, nightgowns, pajama robes, no-scuff house shoes, non-skid socks, large print Bibles and books, and puzzle sets with large pieces. If you have any questions regarding Hearts of Gold, please call 479-783-2273. We are excited to once again give residents their own special gift and wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!
